Belakangan ini lagi “in” listening to lagu-lagu nya Green Day, mungkin 
karna saya rasa beberapa waktu belakangan ini lagu-lagunya “beliau-beliau” ini seperti certain apa yang gw alami dan rasakan (jiah…untuk waktu dekat ini…lebay mode : ON)…dari hal tersebutlah saya tertarik untuk bikin posting mengenai “beliau-beliau” ini secara pun saya dah suka sama band ini sejak duduk di SMP.

Green Day adalah sebuah grup band beraliran Punk Rock (jiah…ky air, mengalir) yang terbentuk pada tahun 1989 di kota California, Amerika Serikat. Album yang sudah mereka rilis : 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hour, Kerplunk, Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod, Warning, International Superhits, Shenanigans, American Idiot, dan 21st Century Breakdown.
Green Day telah diakui di dunia musik karena keberhasilan mereka dalam mengembalikan dan membuat aliran Punk Rock kembali up to the top, bersama-sama dengan grup musik tahun 1990-an seperti The Offspring dan Rancid. Musik yang mereka buat telah banyak memberikan Influence pada grup-grup band aliran punk generasi berikutnya seperti Blink 182 dan Good Charlotte.
Grup musik ini telah menjual lebih dari 50 juta album di Amerika Serikat dan lebih dari 100 juta album di seluruh dunia. Green Day telah memenangkan berbagai penghargaan, seperti MTV Video Music Awards dan Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, juga berbagai penghargaan lainnya, serta telah memenangkan 3 Grammy Awards (Best Alternative ALbum untuk Dookie, Best Rock Album untuk American Idiot dan Record of the Year untuk Boulevard of Broken Dreams).

1. Billie Joe Armstrong (vokal, gitar)
Billie Joe Armstrong (lahir 17 Februari, 1972) anak paling muda dari enam bersaudara, lahir di Oakland, California, dan diasuh di Rodeo, California. Ayahnya, Andy Armstrong, adalah pemain musik jazz dan supir truk, telah meninggal karena kanker ketika Billie Joe berumur 10 tahun. Ibunya, Ollie Jackson, adalah pelayan di sebuah restoran bernama Rod’s Hickory Pit, tempat dimana Billie dan temannya Mike Dirnt bekerja di masa remaja 
mereka. Rod’s Hickory Pit adalah tempat dimana Billie Joe dan band nya Sweet Children tampil pertama kali. Ibunya, Ollie salah menulis nama ketika Billie lahir. Dia memberikan nama Billie yang seharusnya di tulis Billy. Billie Joe adalah satu-satunya anggota di band Green Day yang menggunakan nama aslinya
Pada tahun 2007, Billie Joe berumur 35 tahun dan telah bersama Green Day selama 18 tahun. Billie Joe Armstrong menikah dengan Adrienne Nesser pada tanggal 2 Juli 1994. Pesta pernikahannya hanya berlangsung selama 5 menit. Satu hari setelah mereka menikah, Adrienne hamil dan pada bulan Maret 1995, ia melahirkan anak pertama mereka, Joseph Marciano Armstrong (lahir 15, Maret, 1995). Tiga tahun kemudian, mereka mempunyai anak kedua, Jakob Danger Armstrong (lahir 12, September 1998).
Saat masih Sekiolah, Billie dipanggil “Two Dollar Bill“, karena dia menjual ganja kepada teman-temannya seharga 2 dollar. Pada tahun 1988, Billie Joe membuat band bernama Sweet Children bersama Mike Dirnt, dan seorang drummer bernama Al Sobrante {John Kiffmeyer}. Pada tahun 1989, mereka mengganti namanya menjadi Green Day, dan membuat rekaman 1,000 Hours, di Lookout! Records. Beberapa bulan kemudian, mereka mengeluarkan sebuah album berjudul “1,039 Smoothed Slappy Hours”. Pada tahun 1990, Sobrante keluar dari Green Day karena ingin meneruskan sekolahnya dan digantikan dengan Tré Cool, yang melanjutkan album kedua Green Day, Kerplunk!, memainkan semua lagu kecuali 3 buah lagu.

Trè adalah drummer kedua Green day setelah sebelumnya bernama Al Sobrante, Tre cool masuk pada saat pengerjaan album Kerplunk!

3. Mike Dirnt (Michael Ryan Pritchard)
Nama aslinya Mike Dirnt adalah Michael Ryan Pritchard yang lahir pada tanggal 4 Mei 1972 adalah bassis yang dari awal bersama dengan Billie Joe membentuk Green Day.
